At The Grange Institution (TGI), sports, movement and play are integral to every child’s holistic development. During their formative years, children build confidence, resilience and social-emotional awareness through meaningful experiences in school.
Our annual Sports Day reflects this philosophy, transforming our purpose-built sports facilities into a vibrant space where children, parents and teachers come together to celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship and community.
Building Teamwork Through Our House System
Sports Day brings our House System to life, with students proudly representing the Hornbill, Otter and Pangolin houses. From designing their house banners and flags to cheering one another on, students embraced every opportunity to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship and house spirit as they competed in a series of races and challenges.
These experiences help children understand that being part of a team is about more than competition. It is about working together, encouraging one another and striving towards a common goal. These shared experiences form lasting memories that strengthen friendships and foster a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
Thriving in a Purpose-Built Sports Environment
Sports Day also showcased TGI’s purpose-built sports facilities, giving families the opportunity to experience the learning environment that supports our students’ physical development throughout the year. Completed in 2025, our sports field features an artificial turf football pitch and a 50-metre sprint track.
Designed to meet the needs of our boutique school community, the facility provides ample space for sporting activities, physical education lessons and large-scale school events, allowing students to learn and play in a safe and enriching environment.
Bringing Our School Community Together
With more than 250 children and family members in attendance, the day became a celebration of community. Parents eagerly volunteered for a spirited tug-of-war competition and joined their children for a parent-child football match.
Seeing their parents actively participating in school events reinforces children’s sense of connection, belonging and support. Cheering, playing and celebrating together strengthens the partnership between home and school.
Supported by Valued Partners and School Leaders
We were honoured to once again welcome Mr Foong Daw Ching, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Crestar Education Group, TGI’s parent company. Mr Foong graced the occasion and presented trophies to our winning students, as well as to Otter House, the overall champion of this year’s Sports Day.
Our partners from the Real Madrid Foundation Football School also joined us in the day’s events. Having partnered with TGI since the launch of our football enrichment programme in 2025, their continued support reflects the collaborative partnerships that enrich our students’ learning experiences both on and off the field.
A Learning Experience Beyond the Classroom
Sports Day demonstrates that some of the most valuable learning takes place beyond the classroom through shared experiences, teamwork and the support of a strong school community.
We invite families to visit The Grange Institution and experience our vibrant learning environment. Discover how our purpose-built facilities, dedicated educators and strong home-school partnerships support every child’s holistic development and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
