The Grange’s U10 and U12 Students Compete at the Children’s Street Soccer Tournament 2026

On 7 and 8 March 2026, students from The Grange took part in the Children’s Street Soccer Tournament at Sengkang Grand Mall. The tournament brought together school teams and football academies from the North-East of Singapore, offering a competitive platform for young players to test their skills.

The Grange fielded two teams for the tournament, the Under 10s and Under 12s. Both teams entered with limited preparation time two weeks before the tournament. The aim was not driven by results alone, but by the opportunity to allow students to experience real match conditions and learn how to work in a team.

Competing Against Experienced Teams and Academies

Both teams faced strong opposition throughout the tournament. Many opponents came from established school teams and football academies who trained together regularly.  Despite the challenge, The Grange students showed resilience and determination. They adjusted to different playing styles, remained focused, and worked collectively to respond to setbacks.

Tournament Results That Reflected Effort and Growth

The Under 10s delivered an impressive performance across the tournament. After opening with two draws, the team gained momentum and secured four consecutive wins – including a confident 2–0 victory in the final, earning a first placed finish.

The Under 12s also performed strongly throughout the competition. They recorded four consecutive wins and progressed to the final. Their only loss came in a closely contested final, which ended 1–2 and was decided by narrow margins.

Learning Beyond the Scoreline

While the results were encouraging, the tournament offered more than trophies and rankings. Students displayed solidarity on and off the pitch. They experienced the value of preparation, effort, and teamwork.

The lessons gained from the tournament extend beyond football. Students learned that growth comes from commitment and collaboration. These experiences will continue to shape their development both in sports and life.
